2025 Toyota Highlander Interior: Gas-Powered vs. Hybrid

While the differences aren’t large, the Toyota Highlander interior dimensions do, nevertheless, differ between the gas-powered and hybrid trims. Please carefully review the Toyota Highlander seating dimensions and cargo volume below, and contact us if you have any questions:

Toyota Highlander Interior Dimensions: Gas-Powered

  • Seating Capacity: 7-8
  • Headroom without moonroof (first/second/third row): 41.2 / 39.4 / 36.1 inches
  • Headroom with moonroof (first/second/third row): 39.6 / 39.4 / 36.1 inches
  • Headroom with panoramic roof (first/second/third row): 38.4 / 37.1 / 36.1 inches
  • Shoulder Room without shade (first/second/third row): 59.0 / 58.7 / 55.0 inches
  • Shoulder Room with shade (first/second/third row): 59.0 / 58.4 / 55.0 inches
  • Hip Room (first/second/third row): 57.2 / 57.0 / 45.6 inches
  • Legroom (first/second/third row): 42.0 / 38.7 / 28.0 inches
  • Cargo Volume (behind first/second/third row): 84.3 / 48.4 / 16.0 cubic feet
  • Maximum Passenger Volume (without moonroof/with moonroof/with panoramic roof): 141.8 / 139.5 / 136.3 cubic feet

Toyota Highlander Interior Dimensions: Hybrid

  • Seating Capacity: 7–8
  • Headroom with moonroof (first/second/third row): 39.6 / 39.4 / 36.1 inches
  • Headroom with panoramic roof (first/second/third row): 38.4 / 37.1 / 36.1 inches
  • Shoulder Room with shade (first/second/third row): 59.0 / 58.4 / 55.0 inches
  • Hip Room (first/second/third row): 57.2 / 57.0 / 45.6 inches
  • Legroom (first/second/third row): 42.0 / 38.7 / 28.0 inches
  • Cargo Volume (behind first/second/third row): 84.3 / 48.4 / 16.0 cubic feet
  • Maximum Passenger Volume (with moonroof/with panoramic roof): 139.5 / 136.3 cubic feet

As you can see, most Toyota Highlander interior seating dimensions are the same across gas-powered and hybrid variants. The main difference between the two model types insofar as the interior is concerned is whether Gunnison drivers have the option to opt out of a moonroof/panoramic roof or shades.

If you want a hybrid model, you’ll have to compromise by losing a small amount of interior space for either a moonroof or panoramic roof, and shades are standard. On the other hand, you can go with a gas-powered Highlander, which can be had without a panoramic roof, moonroof, or shades to maximize interior space.

Fortunately, you won’t have to compromise when it comes to the Toyota Highlander cargo space, since both model variants have the same amount of storage. The same goes for the Toyota Highlander seating arrangement, with both gas-powered and hybrid Highlanders offering between seven and eight seats—though exactly how many you end up with depends on the specific trim you choose.
